Survey Shows Increased Confidence in Meeting Meaningful Use for Healthland Users

Healthland, a DrFirst Certified Partner, has just released the results collected from a February, 2010 survey on the ARRA incentives and Meaningful Use criteria at the HIMSS10 Conference.

The study surveyed over 100 critical access and small community hospitals from across the country, asking respondents to share how they feel their knowledge of the ARRA incentives and Meaningful Use guidelines has changed compared to just 1 year ago.

A majority of respondents claim to be more knowledgeable regarding the ARRA and Meaningful Use criteria with around 50% being “somewhat confident,” and 12% being “very confident” that they will be able to meet MU criteria by 2011 – just in time for the first round of incentive payments.

An even more impressive 85% of respondents were very confident that they will be ready to meet meaningful use requirements by 2015.

When asked what this increase in information and confidence can be attributed to, respondents mentioned the following:

  • Technology providers’ webinars and email communications
  • Trade organizations communications
  • Articles and information from industry media
  • Internal research

With over 30 years of experience in the rural healthcare market, Healthland has been a great addition to DrFirst’s Open Borders Program. Surveys such as this are proving that the apprehension and negativity of doctors to adopt health IT systems is slowly fading as the products and education of the industry as a whole is consistently improving.
